Sprout and Press Cafe (4525 Freret St.) is the newest addition to the Freret Street dining corridor, reported Todd Price. Kim Nguyen, the owner of Magasin and Magasin Kitchen opened the juice bar and cafe on Wednesday, March 22.
The menu includes pressed juices (separates on the menu by greens, citrus, and roots), flavored waters (chia coconut; lemon, diner and mint; and artichoke with raw honey), and smoothies - many of the type guests fell in love with at her now-shuttered juice bar, The Pressery, on Magazine Street near Joey K’s. The cafe will also serve salads, spring rolls, poke bowls, and sushi donuts (which Price describes as “the elements of a sushi roll formed into a donut shape”). Savory pastries and dumplings from Dong Phuong bakery in New Orleans East will round out the menu.
Sprout and Press is open Monday through Friday from 11 am to 9 pm and Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm.
