Cavan Bar Updates Look and Cocktail Menu

CH-CH-CHANGES — Just short of one year in and American coastal cuisine hotspot Cavan is already switching things up including refreshing the downstairs bar with a “bolder” look and a new cocktail menu from beverage director Isaiah Estell and bar manager Justin Cane. [EaterWire]

BRUNCHWIRE — Mid-City eatery Vessel recently launched brunch service. The restaurant is now slinging dishes like Korean fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and wild boar ragu from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. [EaterWire]

RENOVATION REPORT — El Gato Negro recently reopened its doors in Lakeview after closing for renovations in November. The restaurant has transformed from a ranch-style designed into a more “Spanish mission”-style look with a walled outdoor patio and glass-enclosed bar, reports Ian McNulty. [The Advocate]
