The folks at forthcoming Bywater-based brewery Parleaux Beer Lab are closing in on opening day. The craft beer destination headed to the corner of Lesseps and Royal at 4224 Royal St. is awaiting city and state permitting, according to Nora McGunnigle.

The hotly anticipated brewery and taproom will feature 12 taps, a 10-barrel system, and an outdoor seating area with fruit trees and a platform made from the bones of an old shipping container.

Parleaux is far from the only brewery slated to arrive in New Orleans. Brieux Carre is also sprinting to the finish line in Marigny. Owner Robert Bostick estimates the taproom could begin brewing in two weeks with a debut in March. Port Orleans Brewing, Royal Brewery New Orleans, and just announced Irish Channel coming attraction Miel Brewery and Taproom are also poised to launch this year.
