Hummus & More, the Lebanese restaurant that Huda Aldisi and Lisa Labit first opened in Metairie in 2015, has thrown open the doors to a second location on Maple Street. The hummus, falafel, and gyro hub takes the place of Babylon Cafe, which fed Maple Streeters for over 15 years.
Changes to the restaurant space have been minimal, except for the addition of a large awning covering the front outdoor seating area. The interior of the restaurant remains the same as it was with Babylon, with bright, painted windows blocking the view into the laundry mat next door; turquoise walls; and a casual vibe.
Both Aldisi and Labit worked at Byblos restaurant in Metairie for over a decade, Aldisi for 18 years and Labit for 10 years. The two decided to open their own restaurant after Aldisi visited her homeland, Jordan.
Opening hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
