PYTHIAN UPDATE—Three new food vendors have been added to Pythian Market: Central City BBQ, 14 Parishes and a second location of Ancora Pizzeria and Salumeria. These join the places that have already been announced as part of the market: Frenchcheeze, Squeezed and La Cocinita. There’s also 1908, a bar, which will sell grab-and-go frozen drinks among other boozy delights. Pythian is planning to add more food vendors before it opens early next year. [EW]

TRICENTENNIAL BREW—Louisiana-based brewery Abita is releasing a new beer in celebration of the 300th birthday of New Orleans, reports Gambit. Called “maison blanc,” it’s brewed with malted barley, wheat and sauvignon blanc grapes. Abita brewmaster Mark Wilson told Gambit likens the taste to a mild, dry house white. The brew is in stores this week. [GAMBIT]

OFF-DUTY NOSHING—Garden & Gun talked to chef Justin Devillier to find out where he eats when he’s not working in his award-winning restaurants La Petite Grocery and Balise. Among his favorite haunts? Coquette is the stand-by, while he loves bringing the kids to R&O Restaurant in Metarie. [G&G]
