Plant-based, healthy-eating cafe Max Well New Orleans lands Uptown with a menu of organic juices, rainbow salads, and power bowls. Opening in the corner spot near Audubon Park that was most recently Fresh Bar, the new wholesome food hub kicks off with a grand opening party tonight.
The new cafe comes from Maxwell Eaton, an avid cyclist who studied nutrition at Tulane University. The menu features seven different salad dressing options ranging sweet flax miso to almond basil, salads, soups, power bowls such as the banh mi bowl, and plant-based proteins like lentils and red pepper hummus. All the proteins can be added to the salads.
The restaurant will celebrate with an opening party and ribbon-cutting tonight from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. with complimentary fresh juices and small plates.
Max Well planned to open for regular business on Wednesday, but has had to postpone the opening due to an equipment failure.
