Fleming’s Steakhouse Swings Open Its Doors to Colossal Crab Claws and Aged Steaks

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar began unleashing giant king crab claws and steaks topped with lobster poached in truffle butter in Metairie on October 30.

The 7,000 square foot Fleming’s in Metairie has vaulted ceilings and a dedicated red wine room. Plus, the wine list features 100 wines by the glass. Steaks, aged a minimum of 21 days, can be customized with toppings (truffle butter-poached lobster, spicy barbecue shrimp, jumbo lump crabmeat), various rubs, and different cuts. Plenty of seafood options and sides make up the rest of the menu.

The Fleming’s chain is part of the Bloomin’ Brands group of restaurants, along with Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, and Carrabba’s, but it was originally started by chain restaurant whiz Paul Fleming, a native of New Iberia, Louisiana. He’s also behind lots of other familiar chains, like P.F. Chang’s (he’s the P.F. in that one) and Pei Wei.

Fleming’s is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; 5 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 4 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
