Chefs Mike Brewer and Scott Gautreau both have new jobs at City Pork Hospitality, reports Matthew Sigur at The Advocate. The restaurant group, based in Baton Rouge, operates three entities: City Pork Deli and Charcuterie, a deli and sandwich shop, City Pork Brasserie and Bar, a full-service restaurant, and City Pork Catering.
Chef Mike Brewer will serve as corporate chef of City Pork Hospitality, while Chef Scott Gautreau will serve as City Pork Brasserie & Bar’s executive chef.
Brewer’s efforts are well-known in New Orleans — he’s been in the city’s restaurant scene for nearly 20 years. He was named the King of Louisiana Seafood in 2015 after winning the Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off that year. Brewer won with an inspired, fish-filled take on nachos. Brewer opened his Uptown gourmet po’ boy shop The Sammich back in 2013, though it shuttered in 2015. Previously, Brewer logged time at Brennan’s and Commander’s Palace.
Gautreau, a Baton Rouge native, also spent time working in NOLA’s dining scene — with a stint at Commander’s Palace back in 1997.
