Via the Eater tip line, Magasin Cafe, closed since summer, has reopened with an elegant makeover seen both inside the restaurant and on the menu.
Reimagined in a romantic, French-Vietnamese style, Spruce’s Nomita Joshi Interior Design is behind the new luxe mod design.
On the menu, vermicelli and rice bowls are still available with expanded options like grilled miso salmon and eggplant, and oxtail and short rib pho join the standard beef, chicken, and vegan pho. But in addition to the well-executed and creative standards, look for more complex dishes like soy roasted hen with ginger rice, braised oxtail with pickles and flatbread, pork and shrimp savory crepe, and crab soup with quail egg and white asparagus.
Magasin Cafe is open Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and 5:30-9 p.m. 4201 Magazine St., 504-896-7611
