“Country-style soul food” spot Two Sisters in Da East has expanded to Gretna with an outpost aptly named Two Sisters on the West Bank. The new soul food restaurant opened at the end of September, according to a report by Ian McNulty.
Though smaller than the original location, Two Sisters on the West Bank serves the same menu as Two Sisters in da East. “That’s a full-throttle soul food catalog of beans and greens, rice and gravy, cornbread and cabbage, smothered chicken and smothered okra, turkey necks, turkey wings and neck bones,” according to McNulty. Daily specials include gumbo, ribs, and chitterlings.
It also keeps the same hours, serving lunch and very early dinner, closing at 5:30 p.m.
The New Orleans East location opened in 2010 in a former Pizza Hut.
