FESTIVAL SEASON — Citing increased fall food festival competition and a loss of funds following the 2015 festival that was canceled because of rain, the 25-year-old Bywater Mirliton Festival has been canceled again this year. Event organizers are hoping to bring the festival back in 2018 with a “new format.” [NOLA.COM]

MENU PORN — MoPHo just rolled out a vegetarian and vegan menu for all those tofu and veggie lovers. It includes spicy sesame cucumbers, vegan Vietnamese street corn, Brussels sprout spring rolls, marinated tofu spring rolls, Manado pumpkin and rice porridge, and other new dishes. Old faves like the cast iron roast tofu poboy, veggie bowl, veggie pho, and field pea curry remain on the menu as well. [via press release]

FESTIVAL SEASON — Top Taco, returning for its second year this spring, will move to Woldenberg Park, a larger venue just downriver from last year’s event. [ADVOCATE]

BOOZE NEWS — Emeril’s NOLA, recently reopened after a big renovation, is kicking off its 25th birthday celebration with a new daily happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. — $5 snacks, $5 well drinks, $5 select wines, and $5 specialty cocktails. Happy hour begins October 21. [via press release]
