Gracious Bakery will move into the Prytania Street spot recently and suddenly vacated by Manhattanjack, reports Todd Price. This is the fourth outpost of the popular bakery and cafe. The original location is on Jeff Davis Parkway, and a second location opened on St. Charles Avenue in January 2017. A smaller, take-out only location, is located on Earhart. The Prytania location, opening in early November, will have a full menu.
Manhattanjack closed at the beginning of August, with allegations of mismanagement and unpaid employees quickly following the closure. At one point, co-owner Coleman Jernigan said he was trying to re-open the bakery and cafe without his business partner, Jack Petronella.
Prytania Street has seen several new restaurants move in recently. The Flying Pig, a Southern restaurant, opened on September 1, in Kyoto’s longtime spot. Kohai, an Osaka restaurant from a former Kyoto restaurant apprentice Kanetha Chau, opened on Prytania a couple weeks ago.
