One of New Orleans’ finest pastry, pie, sandwiches, [insert delicious, flaky goodness here] shops, Gracious Bakery, is expanding to the Garden District. Todd Price reports that the bakeshop’s third outpost will debut on February 1.
Gracious is filling the space at 2854 St. Charles Ave., formerly home to The Grocery. The sandwich shop shut down in December following a protracted landlord tenant dispute. Following the closure, The Grocery had teased that a new restaurants was already slated to fill the space.

According to Price the new bakery will offer the same menu as its Jefferson Davis Parkway counterpart but with the addition of selection of retail-only liquor, wine, and craft beer. Customers can however expect a special treat during this year’s Carnival festivities. The new shop is acquiring permits to offer cocktails during the parades.
Gracious Bakery + Cafe is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
