LGD — Creole gem The Munch Factory has reopened in its new digs at 1901 Sophie Wright Pl., after vacating its former location in Gentilly over the holidays. Ian McNulty reports that the new restaurant is more spacious than the original with private dining space and a larger kitchen. The move also heralds and expanded menu from chef Jordan Ruiz. Brunch will arrive in mid-February. The Munch Factory was also recently tapped to launch an airport outlet. [Advocate]

MID-CITY — Healthy, quick grab chain SWEGS Kitchen has debuted a new outpost at 231 N. Carrollton Ave. The Eatery offers a variety of dishes for people with dietary restrictions including gluten-free pizzas, and items labeled for low-sodium, low-calorie, dairy-free, vegan, and heart healthy. FRENCH QUARTER — Toney’s Spaghetti House will transform into a new restaurant called Creole Carre this February. The owners, Rizzuto Management Group also have leased the shuttered Tony Angello’s Ristorante space in Lakeview, although plans for the project are still being finalized. [Advocate]
