New Orleans-based mini chain Dat Dog has big plans to take the hot dog market by storm. The delicious sausage slinger announced this month that it is expanding to two more outposts in the Gulf South — one in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana, this spring, and another in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Additionally, Dat Dog is targeting a nationwide tube meat takeover by launching a franchising program this month.
Since opening its first outpost in 2011 on Freret Street, Dat Dog has expanded to two more New Orleans locations and one in Metairie, Louisiana. Dat Dog offers an extensive list of hot dogs and sausages (crawfish sausage, anyone?) matched by just about any topping on could think of: hummus, guacamole, blackberry sauce, Sriracha mayo, and more. Some locations also feature top notch beer options.
