The mixed-use development that houses newly opened Bar Frances (in the 4500 block of Freret) is set to have a juicery and a gelato shop join the mix by the end of the year, Robert Morris reports this week. A pizzeria is also heading to an adjacent development. So what’s in store?

Sprout and Press, the Magazine Street juice hub from Magasin owner Kim Nguyen, will expand with a Freret location by November.

Piccola Gelateria, a new sweets shop from Canadian transplant/chef Ross Turnbull and wife Ria Turnbull will serve all-natural Italian gelato in flavors from tiramisu to parmesan, plus "cannoli, gelato cakes, crepes, high-end La Marzocco espresso from Florence, and other daily surprises on the menu," as early as November.

Meanwhile, California-based fast casual chain Blaze Pizzeria, which opened a location in South Market District hub The Paramount in 2015, will also open in an adjacent building in the 5000 block of Freret (formerly home to Weber Garden Center).
