FRENCH QUARTER— The Bourbon House is now open after a ten day renovation, Brett Anderson reports, with a new “floor-to-ceiling bourbon display near the entrance, more behind the bar, and a larger oyster bar,” along with some brand new televisions (hello, game day). [NOLA.com]

NOLA— Todd Price reports that Haydel’s Bakery has just jumped in the hand pie game, in case you’re still mourning the seemingly never-returning Hubig’s: “Apple and lemon pies will go on sell next Friday (Sept. 9) at Haydel's Bakery on Jefferson Highway and all Fleurty Girl locations.
