UPTOWN— Gambit reports that Piccola Gelateria is coming to The Faubourg Freret, the new mixed-use development at 4525 Freret Street. The shop will specialize in authentic Italian gelato made without artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. Traditional flavors, including Nutella and tiramisu will be represented, but Piccola Gelateria co-owner/chef Ross Turnbull will also create savory versions of gelato. UPTOWN— Loyola University grad Rob Connoley, a James Beard Award semifinalist, will be in town on Wednesday, October 5 for a 6 p.m. book signing of his recently-released cookbook Acorns & Cattails at Maple Street Bookshop.
