The Troubadour is a hot new hotel heading to 1111 Gravier St. in the CBD, and New Orleans hospitality pros Phillip Lopez (of Root empire) and T. Cole Newton (of 12 Mile Limit fame) are at the forefront of its dining options, Todd Price reports this week.
The Troubadour—a Joie de Vivre brand hotel—sounds like its going for full entertainment-mecca appeal a la the Ace, which opened earlier this year in the Warehouse District with numerous venues. Here are the dining highlights:
- A ground floor modern Parisian bistro Petit Lion, where Lopez will serve “very clean/very palate cleansing” dishes (ie. not your typical butter and cream style Parisian fare) with seating for 80.
- A rooftop venue Monkey Board, which will feature food-truck style street food, communal drinks, personal birthday cakes that serve parties of four, 360 degree views of New Orleans, live music, and drinks from T. Cole Newton.
- A second floor bar, Troubadour Lounge, which will also feature Newton’s cocktails.
Expect a October November opening.
