A new dining destination has set up shop in the Lower Garden District. Gambit reports that Fat Boy Pantry is now slinging ice cream, sandwiches, coffee, and juice on Magazine Street. Former operator of defunct restaurant Cibugnu and root beer heiress, Hillary Barq is behind the project which boasts 16 flavors of ice cream.

Fat Boy Pantry’s menu features sandwiches suited for breakfast and lunch including lamb belly breakfast pitas, fried lobster po’ boys, and cheeseburgers, as well as ice cream sandwiches served on sweet buns. Ice cream also opens up the option of affogatos on the espresso side.

Barq makes all the ice cream flavors in-house and plans to rotate offerings. “I make mousse, ice, sherbet, ice cream, gelato — and there are no extracts or artificial flavors,” the owner tells Gambit.

Fat Boy Pantry opens from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends.
