Michael Stoltzfus and Kristen Essig’s lauded Southern-style fried chicken pop-up Little Bird is being revived at Coquette. Gambit reports that Essig and Stoltzfuz are bring back the concept at the fine-dining eatery with seasonal menu alongside wine, champagne, and cider pairings. The pop-up will run weekly Sunday through Thursday.
Diners can expect a menu that’s entirely focused on chicken this time around, including fried chicken sandwiches, fried chicken wings with togarashi, peach hot sauce, and ranch dressing, or seasoned fried chicken.
Little Bird was introduced last summer by the fried chicken dream team at Barrel Proof, but the pop-up was recently replaced by Barrel Proof Kitchen. The news isn’t entirely surprising. Chef Essig exited Meauxbar and Cavan last spring and joined Coquette in June as an equity partner, so it seems only natural that she and Stoltzfuz would bring back to their smash hit collaboration.
