Part & Parcel, the anticipated new modern delicatessen from Root/Square Root chef Phillip Lopez, is now open in the South Market District, Todd Price reports. The deli is the newest addition to The Paramount building, which is home to Company Burger, Willa Jean, Magasin Kitchen and Blaze pizzeria.
Part & Parcel brings a menu of seasonal salads and sandwiches to the downtown lunch crowd. Root's renowned charcuterie, including sausages, lardo, nduja and more, is the star of the show with a program overseen by chef de cuisine Michael Mericle. A full bar features signature cocktails—there's a 'face bacon' bourbon drink— and local beers. Hot plate specials, pastas, and an entire retail section are to come.
Also cool: The restaurant has rounded all dishes (including tax) to even numbers in an effort to speed up the lunch rush. There will also be a separate line for phoned-in take out orders.
Status: Certified open at 611 O'Keefe Ave., New Orleans, daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (504) 309-7800. On Facebook right here.
