New Orleans fastest-growing empire NOHSC Restaurant Group— yes, they of New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Co., New Orleans Beignet & Coffee Co. and Legacy Kitchen concepts— is about to open three new restaurants in town, Ian McNulty reports this week. Here are the details.
CBD— Nine-year-old fine-dining stunner MiLa (inside the Pere Marquette hotel), which lost founding chefs Slade and Allison-Vines Rushing back in 2014 and has apparently been on life support ever since, will become Oyster Counter + Tap Room by Legacy Kitchen, serving oysters, casual fare, and two-for-one draft beers only, in a diner-like setting. A new location of New Orleans Beignet & Coffee Co. is also planned for the hotel.
GRETNA— Recently-shuttered, cringe-inducing breastaurant Twin Peaks at 91 Westbank Expy. is set to become Legacy Kitchen’s Steak + Chop by November. Expect "a large bar, with seating for 35" and a steakhouse menu that also features seafood, salads and sandwiches.
