Catchphrase coining celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse’s forthcoming New Orlean’s restaurant has set the date. Lagasse today confirmed that his new Warehouse District project — Meril — will debut on September 24.
Named after Lagasse’s daughter, the eatery will offer on a diverse selection of international dishes including fresh pastas, wood-fired flat breads, pork rib tamales, and Japanese robata-style grilling. The design focuses on a casual atmosphere with a horseshoe bar and an open kitchen. Chef Will Avelar, formerly sous chef at Emeril’s Delmonico, is helming the kitchen.
Meril, which is located a few blocks from the flagship Emeril’s New Orleans, began hiring staff at the end of July. This will be Lagasse’s fourth New Orleans restaurant and thirteen from his restaurant group.
Meril is located at 424 Girod Street. The restaurant will open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
