The Tchoup Yard, a new Irish Channel bar that reminds Ian McNulty of a cross between a beer garden, beach bar and Celebration in the Oaks, is now open at 405 Third Street.
The outdoor hub is the second bar from F&M Patio Bar owner Trevor Palmer, and includes 80+ parking spots, an entrance on Second Street and a block-wide fenced-in compound that will also debut an indoor bar with rolling garage-style doors called Zanzabar Annex next year.
Unlike F&M's, though, this spot is hoping to draw in some hefty afternoon/evening business, rather than catering to a late night crowd.
More importantly, The Tchoup Yard brings a few frozen drinks to the mix, including beloved Pensacola Beach drink The Bushwacker— "mocha-flavored cousin to the piña colada"— along with frozen margaritas, a few wines on tap, an ample beer selection served in frosty schooners, a full bar with some classic drinks, and a rotating roster of pop-ups and food trucks.
Hours: Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight Friday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday, 2 p.m. to midnight. (504) 895-6747. On Facebook here.
