NOLA— Doug MacCash reports that Emile Rufin, former restaurateur of Ye Olde College Inn, passed away at 98 last week: "He and his two brothers started working for their dad, Denis Rufin, at the Carrollton Avenue restaurant in 1939... The railroad dropped off out-of-state Tulane football fans near the intersection... so Denis Rufin gave his 24-hour diner a name that would appeal to the passing pigskin crowd." [NOLA.com]
