Freret Is Getting a New Beer Room By 2017

Freret Beer Room plans October opening

A new spot for beer and cheese Freret Beer Room will be opening up in the former Latriana's Lounge space at 5018 Freret. Eli Gay, a Nola native and alum of St. James Cheese Co. and NYC-based Alphabet City Beer Co., plans to open the concept by the end of the year, maybe even as early as October.

Expect 16+ beers on tap, bottles, local brews, cheese (Gay describes himself as a "disciple of St. James Cheese") and food that's not all burgers but not snooty either.

This comes hot on the heels of the announcement of new brewery and beer garden Parleaux Beer Lab, which is heading to the Bywater by the end of year as well.
