A New Bike-Friendly Beer Garden May Land in Mid City

MID CITY— Robert Morris reports that a new bike friendly beer garden is planned for the Toulouse end of Lafitte Greenway (near Bayou Bicycles) from a partner in The Bulldog and Velvet Cactus: "Plans include a pet-friendly outdoor patio, small outside bar, room for three food trucks, a small indoor space and plenty of bicycle parking" and could potentially open by fall 2017.

CENTRAL CITY— Todd Price reports that pitmaster Damian Bruggar is no longer involved with Black Label Icehouse, the Texas-inspired bar and barbecue spot he founded with partner Mary Slason at 3000 Dryades. [NOLA.com]

LGD— Barrel Proof Kitchen debuted last night at LGD whiskey hub Barrel Proof, and is currently serving a short menu of frites and bar snacks from John Sinclair every Wednesday- Saturday 4 p.m. to midnight, with plans to invite restaurants, food trucks and pop-ups to take over on certain evenings as well.
