Ace Hotel's Late Night Oyster Bar Opens Next Week

Seaworthy brings sustainable seafood & low proof drinks to Warehouse District

Seaworthy, the hotly anticipated oyster bar and restaurant from NY's Grand Banks team and the Ace Hotel, opens in the Warehouse District next week, Todd Price reports.

Starting on Thursday, July 21, Seaworthy will offer a limited menu and hours with an official grand opening slated for Monday, August 1. Looks like the restaurant will be the latest and greatest dining option for the late night crowd (serving, even on weekdays, until 1 a.m.)

Seaworthy is the brainchild of Nola natives Alex and Miles Pincus, who along with partner Adrien Gallo, run the popular Grand Banks oyster schooner in New York City. Grand Bank's executive chef and avid fisherman Kerry Heffernan has created a menu focused on sustainable and diverse seafood along with Grill Room alum/chef Daniel Causgrove, who will run the kitchen.

Expect a great cocktail program as well, with an emphasis on low proof libations from bar director and Milk and Honey alum Lauren Schell. Steve Yamada, formerly of Latitude 29, has also come aboard as general manager.

Status: Softly opening at 630 Carondelet on July 21. Soft opening hours: Mon, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.  (kitchen serving until 1 a.m.). Wed-Sun, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. (kitchen serves until 1 a.m. Brunch to come. Closed Tuesdays.

*Friday, July 22, Seaworthy will open at 7:30 p.m. due to a Tales event.
