A new space for pop-ups 323 is making a splash in Algiers, Ian McNulty this week. The venue "feels like a family-run restaurant," but a rotating roster of diverse pop-ups—The Old Portage, Koreole, Black Swan Food Experience and more— host nightly dinners and weekend brunches here.
The building's owners Robert and Kristin Palmer refurbished the space themselves with long booths and handcrafted furnishings, and partner Sarah Kiehle tells McNulty the pop-ups pay a percentage of sales to meals here.
The schedule for June includes New Orleans cuisine favorite The Old Portage on Wednesdays from 4 to 10 p.m., and on June 12, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for its monthly brunch. Honduran street food pop-up Alma will be at 323 on Thursday, June 16, from 5 to 9 p.m.
