Last July, Manhattanjack owner Jack Petronella put the brakes on plans to open his Italian restaurant Altamura in Uptown, citing rezoning issues. However, Petronella is once again moving forward with the project. The Times-Picayune reports that the chef has signed a deal to lease the recently renovated Magnolia Mansion on Prytania Street.

Manhattanjack partner Coleman Jernigan will helm the kitchens, serving up Italian-American food inspired by New York neighborhood restaurants. Diners can expect an upscale white tablecloth setting with a menu featuring dishes like osso buco, and veal chops, as well as less expensive pastas and salads to entice area regulars. Petronella plans to renovate the dining room in time for an August opening.
