NOLA— The Emeril Lagasse Foundation has just announced the distribution of over $150,000 to area non-profits including Second Harvest, Liberty's Kitchen, Louisiana Restaurant Association's Education Fund and others. The foundation has raised over  $7 million for children's charities since 2002.  [Eaterwire]

NOLA— Ann Maloney reports that Dat Dog and Zatarain's will offer free samples of the new Zat Dog—featuring crab boil-spiced shrimp sausage, corn macque choux and Zatarain's newly-released limited supply of chow chow (mustard relish)— this Thursday May 26, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the 3336 Magazine location.  Young Fellaz Brass Band will play and proceeds will benefit New Orleans Musicians' Assistance Foundation.
