MIDCITY - The Gambit reports that Melt will be coming soon to Banks Street near the new University Medical Center. The small plates, sandwich, and cheese-focused restaurant will have an outdoor shaded courtyard "which will be set up, a la Bacchanal, with casual patio furniture and plants." A rooftop deck will have the capacity for 75-100 patrons in addition to Melt's 1700sf indoor space. Melt will open in early- to mid- June and initial hours will be 11 a.m. to midnight.

TOURO - Sandwich /milkshake shop Milk Bar is closing its Touro location, leaving only the Riverbend location open, although owners Inta and Kevin Phayer are considering the possibility of opening another location in the future, possibly in the CBD. Giant milkshakes and cheesy ciabatta sandwiches weren't doing as well as they used to in the Touro location, the Gambit reports, so the Phayers decided to seek greener pastures.

LGD - The new Bakery Bar, which combines booze and sweets (with a focus on cocktails and doberge) has a new happy hour, according to the intrepid Todd Price, featuring FREE snacks like focaccia, cured meats, and cheese as an homage to the former tenant of the space, Eleven 79's, Italian cuisine. Happy hour is Tues-Fri, 4-6 p.m., with the aforementioned free snacks, $3 martinis, $5 Aperol spritzes, and $5 glasses of pinot grigio.
