NOLA Superstar Alon Shaya Lands Cookbook Deal

My Journey Back To Israeli has sold to Knopf

Brasted

Chef Alon Shaya is coming off of two crazy successful years in the restaurant industry. He took home the James Beard Award for Best Chef: South in 2015, and his eponymous modern-Israeli eatery in Uptown won the Beard Award for Best New Restaurant in America this year.  Now he's adding a highly-anticipated cookbook to the mix.

Those of you clamoring to see just what goes into the amazing falafel that his mother claims is the best she's ever tasted are in luck. Shaya will work with New Orleans-based writer and Beard Award winner Tina Antolini to bring My Journey Back To Israel to bookshelves in the future. No word on projected pub date yet.

Here are the details from Publishers Marketplace:

James Beard Award winner for Best New Restaurant and 2015 winner for Best Chef: South, Alon Shaya's first cookbook MY JOURNEY BACK TO ISRAEL, in which the energy of Israel, born of the meshing of so many cultures, is celebrated, written with James Beard Broadcast Media Award winner Tina Antolini, to Victoria Wilson at Knopf, by David Vigliano at AGI Vigliano (World English).
