Exciting news for Mid City this week, with Ian McNulty reporting that Namese chefs Nhat Nguyen and Chien Nguyen (no relation) will open Farmacy in the Dis & Dem space this May.  The location (2540 Banks) is a hop, skip and jump from the new medical complex between Tulane and Canal, and thus the name.

Farmacy will serve up comfort food inspired by New Orleans, New York and even Chicago with deli sandwiches, tacos, "shawarma-style rotisserie chicken," wings, burgers, and more planned for the lunch and dinner menu.  Do expect some Vietnamese flavors, pig roasts on the back patio, and a full bar.

Meanwhile, Dis & Dem owner Skip Murray will open a bigger location of his burger spot in a newly-purchased shotgun at 2600 Banks, with a "stand-alone bar and a patio facing the side street, South Dorgenois."

Melt, a new grilled cheese spot, is also set to open on the block this spring at 2549 Banks.
