Faubourg St. John falafel spot 1000 Figs could be expanding with a new bread bakery and pizzeria on Banks Street, Della Hasselle reports this week. At a recent Mid City Neighborhood Organization meeting, The New Orleans Redevelopment Fund revealed its plans to restore an historic property at 3200 Banks (between Rendon and S. Lopez) with a ground-floor wood-fired pizzeria and bakery run by 1000 Figs, along with two upstairs apartments.
The restaurant would also have a courtyard. The plans will go before the City Planning Commission in May.
Eater has reached out 1000 Figs owners Theresa Galli and Gavin Cady and is awaiting response at this time.
