Bakers Nicole Eiden and Marielle Dupré win big at New Orleans Entrepreneur Week

Eater Nola Bakery Heatmap favorite Windowsill Pies is a step closer to bringing a planned European style coffee and pie shop to New Orleans. Bakers Nicole Eiden and Marielle Dupré have just received a Woman Entrepreneur Fellowship from the Junior League after winning a pitch-off over 30 other competing businesses at New Orleans Entrepreneur Week.

Dupre, a former asst. pastry chef at Bayona, and Eiden met years back while working at Mat & Naddie's, and today run Windowsill out of a commercial kitchen off Tchoup. But last year, they announced their intention to open an all-ages shop that sells savory and sweet pies, coffee, and perhaps wine and even beer on tap.

Now they're searching for a location and are ready to purchase a new convection oven. For the time being, you can still order pies here, or find hand pies in area Whole Foods or by the slice at Dick & Jenny's and Louisiana Pizza Kitchen (in the Quarter).
