You Can Eat Crawfish For a Cause at John Besh's House on May 7

Plus, Diner en Blanc returns in May and more

SLIDELL— Chef John Besh hosts a crawfish boil at his home on May 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. to raise funds and awareness for the John Besh Foundation, which provides scholarships for New Orleans minorities to go to culinary schools and more.  $75 covers food and drink ($50 for Besh Foundation members) and kids under 12 are free. QUARTER— Southern stunner Angeline (1032 Chartres) will debut a new Friday brunch this week, April 15, with a menu including a pork chop sandwich, eggy dishes and boozy cocktails 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The restaurant also does breakfast Mon-Thurs, 8 to 11 a.m. [Eaterwire]

NOLA— Prepare your white outfit and table settings, Diner en Blanc returns for its fourth year on May 28.  The location remains secret until the last minute, and you have to supply your own food, but the $45 ticket includes transportation and entertainment. CENTRAL CITY— Beloved author, radio host, and lady of the roux Poppy Tooker has donated over 400 cookbooks, wine and food books/papers (including Slow Food & Louisiana culinary docs) to SoFab's John and Bonnie Boyd Hospitality and Culinary Library. [Eaterwire]

CENTRAL CITY— Brady's Wine Warehouse is now doing a wine tasting on the third Thursday of each month for $20 with $10 of it going toward a wine purchase. Coming up on April 21, from 6 to 8 p.m., 15 red wines from Washington with scores of 90+ points.
