Ace Hotel's Oyster Bar Will Have a Low-Octane Cocktail Menu

More details on the still-unnamed oyster bar from Grand Banks

The upcoming All-American oyster bar and restaurant heading nextdoor to the Ace from the NYC Grand Banks crew still doesn't have a name, but Todd Price does reveal an interesting new fact about the restaurant's bar program this week.

Bar director Lauren Schell will create a menu that focuses on low-alcohol 'session' cocktails, which allows guests to try a wide array of the drinks without, you know, getting hammered.  Co-owner and NOLA native Alex Pincus tells Price that this is also the cocktail set up they use on Grand Bank's oyster bar schooner up in NYC and that 'nobody has ever fallen off' the boat.

Price also reports that the restaurant will have outdoor dining and "several stories" inside.

The oyster bar is slated to open in May with former Grill Room chef Daniel Causgrove in as chef de cuisine under Eleven Madison Park alum/executive chef Kerry Heffernen. The menu will focus on sustainable seafood in the form of shared and small plates, and both chefs have been traveling Louisiana and meeting with fisherman to prepare.
