Central City's beloved Mexican eatery and live music hub Casa Borrega will launch La Habana, a Cuban food truck next month, Will Coviello reports this week. Co-owner Hugo Montero tells Gambit he grew up amidst an abundance of Cuban culture in his native Mexico City.
Expect a menu of "noches sandwiches, ropa vieja, congri, lechon asado, arroz con pollo, tostones, fruit shakes and Cuban-style sodas from Miami" all under $10.
Brett Anderson also reports that the truck's debut will coincide with Jazz Fest, and will likely include a few opening events with Cuban musicians.
