Dinner Lab has been the victim of a nasty scam, Todd Price reports this week, with the roving supper club having $64,000 in fraudulent checks issued from its Chase bank account over the weekend:
More than 120 checks, all in small amounts, were written using Dinner Lab's account and routing numbers...The checks, which did not look like Dinner Lab's own checks, were issued to various people. All were signed with the same bogus signature.
The company will not have to pay the money. It's had to change its bank account, and CEO Brian Bordainick tells The Times-Pic he doesn't think any Dinner Lab employees were involved.
