Munch Factory Heads to The LGD

LGD— Gentilly’s Creole gem The Munch Factory is heading to a new spot in the Lower Garden District, Helen Freund reports this week. Owners Jordan and Alexis Ruiz will close up shop at 6325 Elysian Fields on December 24 and reopen in January at 1901 Sophie Wright Place. [Gambit]

LAKEFRONT— Ian McNulty reports that new bar and restaurant Sala is now open at 124 Lake Marina Dr. (in the former Maple Cafe spot) near West End from sister and brother combo Heather and Joe Riccobono (their family is behind Riccobono’s Peppermill, Riccobono’s Panola Street Cafe and Cafe Navarre). Bistro fare available at dinner and soon for brunch. [Advocate]

CARROLLTON— Down home comfort food pop-up We’ve Got Soul is calling it quits, with a final dinner planned for New Year’s Eve at Carrollton Station. Eric Lindell will also be performing that night. [Eaterwire]

BYWATER— Cafe Henri has a new chef on board Helen Freund reports. Alfredo Nogueira, Nola native who also just returned from a decade in Chicago, where he most recenlty ran the kitchen at Cajun eatery and cocktail spot Analogue. Nogueira’s menu at Cafe Henri isn’t set in stone yet, but Todd Price also reports that new menu items include chicken liver with bacon jam a baller seafood stew with saffron broth.
