Creole Hotspot Neyow’s Opens Its Big New Location in Mid City

Charbroiled oysters & smothered pork chops

Mid City’s beloved Creole and soul food hotspot Neyow’s is now open in a new location (next door to its original digs) at 3332 Bienville, Ian McNulty reports.

Since 2010, owner and chef Tanya Dubuclet and family have been serving up charbroiled oysters, smothered pork chops, stuffed cabbage, gumbo and more specialties to a packed house at the corner of Jeff Davis and Bienville, where its always been a common sight to find folks conglomerating on the sidewalk, waiting for a seat inside.

Enter the long overdue new restaurant. Twice as big and a bit more contemporary. The space features two dining areas, a large bar, an oyster grill overlooking Bienville, and a brick patio with a bar and televisions. The entire build was actually completed by Dubuclet’s husband, who happens to be a local contractor.

Neyow’s is named after the Dubuclet’s favorite dog breed, the Neopolitan Mastiff, and as such, is also know for its Bow Wow Punch, a boozy rum-based red drink.
