MID CITY— A new location of Swegs Kitchen, a local health food chain from MMI Culinary, a Kenner-based food prep company MMI Culinary, is heading to 231 N Carrollton Ave (near Subway and Brown Butter) with signage up. The restaurant is known for healthy comfort food including pressed juices and grab and go meals, with area locations downtown, on the Northshore and in Jefferson Parish. Expect an opening in early 2017. [Eaterwire]

LAKEFRONT— A new Lakefront spot Billy Wright’s Olde New Orleans Boil House and Coffee House will be opening around March 2017, Ian McNulty reports, in Shelter No. 1 on Lakeshore Drive. The mostly-outdoor restaurant and oyster bar from Wright (of Wood Pizza Bistro & Taphouse and Bud’s Broiler City Park fame) is based on old school West End eatery Maggie & Smitty’s, and will serve boiled/fried seafood, New Orleans fare, and potentially booze (and live music) in the long lost location of Krupp’s. WAREHOUSE DISTRICT— The Daily Beet, an expansion from St. Roch Market vendor JuiceNOLA has signed on to open inside The Beacon (sister property of The Paramount—run by Domain— at 1000 Girod in the South Market District) in spring 2017. Owner Dylan Maisel will offer quinoa bowls, hearty salads, avocado toast, cold press juices, smoothies and more. [Eaterwire]

NORTHSHORE— Former Old Mandeville hub The Scotts, known for tapas, coffee, and as a community hangout, is hoping to reopen in the upcoming Rest Awhile compound, and is pending city approval. The restaurant lost its lease and was forced to shutter in December 2015. [NOLA.com]
