Contemporary Creole eatery Annunciation has undergone some big changes since opening chef and partner Steve Manning exited the restaurant this summer. Owner J.C. Romero recently recruited chef Jacob Cureton, an alum of Stella!, Emeril’s Delmonico, and Johnny V’s Bistro, to helm the restaurant’s kitchen. Additionally, the Annunciation has unveiled a renovated bar area with a special bar menu and happy hour deals.

According to a release, Annunciation’s updated regular menu now includes dishes like baked oysters, crab cakes, and Chappapeela Farms pork osso buco. Barside, the restaurant now features high top tables made of carbonized ash and a lounge area with brown leather chairs and dark wood tables. On Cureton’s new bar menu diners can expect more casual fare to match the space including crispy barbants (crunchy potatoes with paprika and lemon aioli), pork cracklings, boudin balls, and mussels, as well as a short rib-white cheddar cheeseburger served on a brioche bun.

Annunciation’s happy hour is now available from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with half-off deals on bar menu dishes, $4 draft beers, $5 wine pours, and cocktail deals.
