WAREHOUSE DISTRICT — Meet James Beard Award-winning author Rowan Jacobsen from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on November 17 at Pêche Seafood Grill — featured in his latest book The Essential Oyster: A Salty Appreciation of Taste and Temptation. Chef Ryan Prewitt will be providing tastings of two of his exceptional oyster recipes and copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. UPTOWN — Saint Roch Market resident Coast Roast Coffee is now brewing at Imperial Woodpecker Snoball’s Magazine Street outpost. The cafe will be filling the space from now through February 2017 offering coffee, espresso, and tea as well as Nonna Randazzo’s pastries and king cakes. [EaterWire]
