Very exciting news this week in terms of anticipated openings, with Todd Price reporting that Dunbar’s Creole Cuisine, a longtime Freret Street favorite that was sadly shuttered by Katrina, is finally reopening on October 28.

The restaurant will land in a new location at 7834 Earhart Blvd. in Gert Town, but the menu will still deliver all of the Creole best-hits— expect fried chicken, pork chops, red beans and rice and more from chef/owner Celestine Dunbar.

A ribbon cutting will take place on October 28 at 10 a.m. The restaurant plans to serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and even Sunday brunch.
