Breakfast Hub Toast Is Now Open By The Fair Grounds

Booze permit has been applied for

The new greater Mid City location of Toast, the Uptown ebelskiver and breakfast spot from baker Cara Benson and team, is now near the Fair Grounds, Helen Freund reports. The menu is much the same as the flagship with a few new specials including spicy fried chicken & waffles. The restaurant doesn’t have booze yet, but has applied for its permit.

The build-out was done by Matthew Holdren— responsible for various restaurant build outs in town including shortlived beauty Ursa Major— and Ian McNulty also reports that the renovation “added a diner counter and a mix of booths and nooks around the dining room,” plus a Fair Grounds-inspired mural by local artist E. Allen Warren.

Status: Officially open at 1845 Gentilly Blvd., Monday to Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (504) 351-3664.
