MARIGNY— Helen Freund reports that Royal Sushi & Bar has opened at 1913 Royal Street in the location that housed short-lived Ichi Ramen House and the even shorter-lived Anna’s Gastropub. Specialty rolls, ramen bowls and more available every Mon-Sat, noon to 11 p.m. Sunday, noon to 10 p.m. [Gambit]

GARDEN DISTRICT— The Big Class’s literary fundraiser A Dark and Stormy Night takes over Felicity Church at 7 p.m. tonight with food from Debbie Does Doberge, Frady’s, Koreole, Mona’s, The Munch Factory, Pizza Delicious, Rebellion, and Vaucresson’s Sausage Co. and drinks from Balise, Bar Tonique, Bombay Club, Catahoula, Cafe Henri, Kingfish, Loa, Movers and Shakers, Oxalis, Pirogue's Whiskey Bayou, and Treo. QUARTER— Freund also reports that German restaurant Jägerhaus will be shuttering its longtime Conti location on October 30 and reopening in 2017 at 714 N. Rampart across from Armstrong Park with a courtyard and a rooftop beer garden. A new taco concept Cunada will take over the space at 833 Conti. [Gambit]
