Dook's Place Opens in MSY; King Cake Festival Lands in Champion Square Sunday

CBD— The King Cake Festival returns to Champion's Square this Sunday, January 31, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a one-mile fun run and fitness challenge, king cake tastings ($1/sample), live music, food trucks, a kid's zone and more. Entry is free, and proceeds benefit babies and children at Oschner Hospital. [Eaterwire]

KENNER— Todd Price reports that Leah Chase's grandson/chef Edgar Chase IV has just opened new eatery Dook's Place outside of Concourse B in The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The new spot has a raw bar, local beers on tap, a line up of Creole cuisine and a few originals including an oyster BLT. Open 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. [NOLA.com]
